Our Story
It all started with a "Sunset on the Mesa!"
Our journey began in mid-June 2021, when our foundation Weimaraner, “Full Circle Sunset on the Mesa,” from Full Circle Weimaraners joined our family. We’re Michelle and Jacob Johnson, and from day one we knew Weimaraners were the perfect fit for our family.
Our weims are loved and cared for by me and our four children. They’re a huge part of our everyday life here in Southern Oklahoma, where our kids take turns (or team up!) on chores and dog care between their busy homeschool schedules. We’re so thankful to live in the country on a quiet dead-end road, where our dogs and children have plenty of room to run and explore. Our custom-built, temperature-controlled kennel keeps our weims safe and comfortable through every Oklahoma season, especially while whelping and raising puppies.
With the wonderful mentorship of Amy at Full Circle Weimaraners, our family whelped and raised our first litter in February 2023. Amy helped us find the perfect homes for those puppies, and I soaked up years of her knowledge along the way. I kept one female from that litter, “Trusted Oak Ivy,” and we’ve been growing ever since. In 2024, I founded Trusted Oak Kennels, and that summer we welcomed Mesa’s second litter. In the fall of 2024, we purchased Baxter Mcwalter and welcomed him in as a sire to our breeding program. In 2025 we sent Ivy for training in wounded game blood tracking with Alex at Mesa Point Kennels. Ivy has since successfully tracked many wounded game animals! Mesa had her third litter in June 2025, then in March 2026 Ivy had her first litter of puppies!
With the guidance of my veterinarian, we decided to keep Mesa in our breeding program for her fourth and final litter, born in August 2026. 2026 was the first time we expanded outside of Full Circle or Trusted Oak bloodlines. We joined So-Indiana Weimaraners and welcomed Murphy to sire for us. Mesa has been an all-star through every year. She was our wonderful first weim and has set a high standard for everything that has followed.
We look forward to future litters with Trusted Oak Kennels bloodline as well as finding quality breeders to help expand and continue our program with.
